Travelling Solo?

Travelling Solo and looking for accommodation?

Top 5 tips for the Solo Traveller

  1.  Just askLady working on the bed of her solo accommodation

Looking for accommodation and not able to find the right size apartment or not sure if they can accommodation a couple of extra guests for meetings or for one night? Just ask – all property owners would prefer to let for a solo traveller than be empty for those few nights.   Therefore, if you spot a 4 bedroom house that is free but you are travelling alone then just enquire, you could find the owner would be delighted to accommodate you at a reduced rent. 2. Choose self catering instead of a hotelwork on the laptop at anytime

Enjoy a home from home experience and have meetings on the sofa with a fresh pot of coffee, or on the balcony or in the garden. Buy your own food, bring your favourite tipple or order in a take away! Additionally, with a self catering apartment or cottage the bar is always open, if you work late you can still grab a snack and drink long after the hotel bar would have closed.

3. Go ruralWoodland path with sun shining through the trees ideal for a solo traveller walk

Hotels are generally in cities and built up areas.  Make the most of your time away and stay out of town. Pack your trainers and go for a hike or run.  Explore local sights and meet the locals at the pub.  Staying off the beaten track can work wonders for your wellbeing and help increase productivity when you are working.  Rural accommodation can also be quite quirky. Stay in an old blacksmiths forge or a renovated stable.

4. Bring a partner

Traveling solo can be lonely.  With self catering accommodation it is so much easier to bring a partner, have them around while you are travelling when you both have your own space. It will not cost your company any more either, even more reason to have that home from home experience and be able to switch off after a days work and chat to your partner, enjoy a meal and movie together.

5. Costs are lowerTravelling solo means costs are kept low

Self catering can mean great things for the balance sheet.  Therefore, keeping your HR team happy with your increased wellbeing and less sick days and keep the finance team on your side with an increase in productivity and lower accommodation and food costs.
